Disappearing willows

It rains and rains
On the dark gallowing stains
The willows all dancing
Laughing, whispering, singing, swinging
Crying in the rain
Disappearing with the slain
Only the blood remains

Stranger again

Dark and hollow
Surrounded by demons
All around me
That you'll never see
Captivated by thoughts
That don't seem to rhyme
Falling away in time

It's a strange fascinating world
I come from everyday
Bewildered people travel by
Like clouds in the sky
Haunted by memories
Pouring down like rain
And I feel like a stranger again

A night of revelations

As sun sets in depths of my eyes
See the miracle of the night
That explains the starry sky
Gives me wings to f ly

Rain pours down on earth so white
Sliding down the window glass
And clouds that travel by
Give me wings to fly

In depiction of a river that flows
Dreams on a run, chasing the sun
And moments in time floating by
Take me above the endless sky

Run, run, run
Nowhere to hide
Look beyond the eyes so mild

Up, up, up
Across the limitless skies
Hide behind the paranoid eyes

Loud, loud, loud
Somewhere she cries
With her sensitively innocent eyes
With her brown and petrified eyes

Daisy blues

Sunlight streams through my window
I open my eyes
Tick tock tick tock
I turned towards the clock
I went outside to play
But he took my bicycle away

It rings and it has a basket too
It shines so bright and its color is blue
Riding my bicycle in the lane
Day or night, hot summers or rain
I remember how I used to sway
Why did he take my bicycle away

Running along on the street
Stretching lines incomplete
Limiting imagination
In a self strained way
Why did he take my bicycle away

Coming across short tempered Mr. James
Who never liked any of my games
I stared at him in wonder
And so he laughed and went away
Why did he take my bicycle away

I rushed towards his sweet new garden
And picked up all his daisy blues
I knew that he loved them all
Even more than his old shaggy shoes
He ran after me, but I got away
Why did he take my bicycle away

Evening comes, the trees get dark
And a lonely dog starts to bark
Walking, running all day long
Sleepy and drowsy, I sing my song
Trying hard to forget the day
The day he took my bicycle away

I returned home and went upstairs
Looked in the mirror and brushed my hair
Tick tock tick tock
I turned towards the clock
Its late at night and time to sleep
But he took all my dreams away

Absolution

Going down that road again
Sailing through the years in vain
And fragile thoughts meander in the maze of your own mind

Just like soaked in rain
A butterfly flutters its wings
A nightingale tries to sing
And rain drops just evaporate in embers of time

Falling away with you in abyss
A million chasing eyes
A million pointing fingers
Speaking all the lies

And stuck in a world of isolation
When you find your salvation
Thats the moment you get
Your pure absolution

The cross of changes

If you understand or if you don't
If you believe or if you doubt

There's a universal justice
And the eyes of truth
Are always watching you.

A beautiful story

The Alchemist picked up a book that someone in the caravan had brought. Leafing through the pages, he found a story about Narcissus. The alchemist knew the legend of Narcissus, a youth who daily knelt beside a lake to contemplate his own beauty. He was so fascinated by himself that, one morning, he fell into the lake and drowned. At the spot where he fell, a flower was born, which was called the narcissus.

But this was not how the author of the book ended the story.

He said that when Narcissus died, the Goddesses of the Forest appeared and found the lake, which had been fresh water, transformed into a lake of salty tears.

"Why do you weep?" the Goddesses asked.

"I weep for Narcissus," the lake replied.

"Ah, it is no surprise that you weep for Narcissus," they said, "for though we always pursued him in the forest, you alone could contemplate his beauty close at hand."

"But..... was Narcissus beautiful?" the lake asked.

"Who better than you to know that?" the Goddesses said in wonder, "After all, it was by your banks that he knelt each day to contemplate himself!!"

The lake was silent for some time.

Finally it said: "I weep for Narcissus, but I never noticed that Narcissus was beautiful. I weep because, each time he knelt beside my banks, I could see, in the depths of his eyes, my own beauty reflected."

"What a lovely story," the alchemist thought.

An extract from The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho

Alice and the Cheshire cat

Alice came to a fork in the road.
"Which road do I take?" she asked.
"Where do you want to go?" responded the Cheshire cat.
"I don't know," Alice answered.
"Then," said the cat,"it doesn't matter."

The Ballad of a Killer in Gaol

PART I

A dark and cold December night
When he had done a crime
The jury heard, he said the words
That didn't seem to rhyme
How could a man so young and wise
Could do that in his prime?

The woman whom he loved so much
Did not make a sound
She could not weep and went to sleep
With dead then he was found
He couldn't remember that cold December
To death was he now bound

He thought about his murdered wife
Sitting in prison cell
The warden kept an eye on him
He heard the tolling bell
Another man was going to swing
He knew that very well

With death loitering in his eyes
He passed by his cell
With head so down he looked so brown
His fate he could not tell
The hangman standing close at hand
In an empty place, he fell

Another day, he knelt to pray
He looked upon the sky
He looked at another man
Who was going to die
He passed by him, he felt so dim
He looked with soulless eye

With knife he killed the one he loved
His wife so soon grew cold
In his yard, he wept so hard
For love he had to sold
With blood on hand, he could not stand
He had killed his world

With such a wistful eye he had
He spent his night and day
He knew his fate, he had to wait
To hell his soul will stray
He knelt to God to get a nod
He had no other way

Some kill their love, some die for them
Some regret and others smile
Yet each man loves the thing he has
Yet in a different style
Some walk on the same path
Some walk a different mile

For once or twice or may be thrice
Each one does wrong
Some go to dance, have another chance
Some try to sing a song
Some try to know, why is it so
For all we have to long?

Some laugh too low, some too loud
Some sob and others cry
The trial men all faced the pen
For some, things went awry
But the man had killed the one he loved
And so he had to die

PART II

Six weeks he had been in the gaol
There was no night when he had slept
Each night he knelt to pray to God
The warden witnessed how he wept
Why did he kill the one he loved?
A secret he had kept

The woman whom he loved so much
Did not make a sound
He could not weep and went to sleep
With dead then he was found
His dark regret he could not forget
When he walked on prison ground

Each day the hangman did his job
Each day someone had to die
He saw his wife, he held the knife
As dreams kept on passing by
With cloth on face and dark disgrace
Someday he would be swinging high

The wardens saw him night and day
They saw him when he dreamed
They saw him when he knelt to God
They saw him when he screamed
But one day he'd be there no more
His day was coming, so it seemed

With shame on face, he tried to erase
The memories from his mind
And when he cried, he could not hide
And peace he could not find
He used the knife to kill his wife
He thought that he was kind?

So bad he was, said the laws
He did a violent thing
With shame he ran, to the hangman
What could a hangman bring?
Murmuring low his voice said so
"So soon you're going to swing"

He ruined his life with one mistake
He had no second chance
How could he think, of a jolly drink
In gaol he could not dance
"L'ange de la mort viendra bientôt"
As he heard them say in France!

With a sweet rhyme, a midnight hymn
The warden heard him sing
He heard his hymn and checked the time
And heard the music of his strings
He sang again, what could he gain?
So soon he had to swing

With such a wistful eye he had
He spent his night and day
He could not talk, and when he walked
He had no word to say
With voice so bold, the sheriff told
"Death is coming your way"

He tried to refrain from scorching pain
With sun shining high
"Free that prisoner", said the Governor
For he was an innocent guy
But the man had killed the one he loved
And so he had to die

PART III

While sitting in his prison cell
He stood up on his feet
Nothing to steal, he could not feel
He tried so hard to eat
He was so blue, he had no clue
The fate he was to meet
The woman whom he loved so much
did not make a sound
She could not weep and went to sleep
With dead then he was found
In January snow, with head so low
He touched the white ground

His day was near, he could not hear
The words that warden said
With such a debt, his hand was wet
With blood that he had bled
And days so few, in morning dew
He wept inside his head

It rained so hard, saw prison guard
He looked upon the sky
He knew so well, the fire in hell
The place he was to fly
With tears in eyes and clouds in sky
He watched them sailing by

Three days had passed, he did not sleep
The clock was ticking away
Tick tock the hammers he could count
So short was his stay
The midnight came, with utmost shame
He could see his body sway

The hangman finally came his way
The rope around his neck
With cloth on face and dark disgrace
The sheriff made a check
He smiled and threw a card so wild
The joker in the deck

The sheriff asked for one last wish
He had no wish to say
No wish no will and with a skill
The hangman did his play
With such a grin, to end a sin
All colors looked so gray

The hangman did his job so well
The prisoner lived in cell no more
The rope around his neck so tight
His body dancing above the floor
His eyes so green could not be seen
With cloth that he wore

They left him there, they left him bare
They left him swinging high
Up above and like a dove
He left the ground to fly
The man had killed the thing he loved
And so he had to die

A nameless grave was made for him
Along with many more
He moved his hand, he made his stand
He closed the opened door
The man had killed the one he loved
And so he lived no more

Bewitched

Sitting in the meadow
Staring at my own shadow
Stars shining above
Exposed to the warm cold breeze

I'm talking to the silence
Sssshhhh...

Enchanting memories casting spells
Listen to the story the fairy tells
Andalusian meadows in sunny Spain
Jesus, Judas and Magdalene
Stories forgotten long ago

I'm talking to the silence

Listening to voices left unheard
Turning some pages lost for words

Talking to seagulls from a distant land
Seagulls white, black night
Black night, the moonlight

With eyes closed
I travelled through time
Endless time

With eyes closed
I rode the stars
Some shining stars, some falling
And I rode on

With shimmering light, with twilight
Morning smiles

Shadow of the knight disappears
Takes away all the fears

Rubbing my hands over my eyes
Trying to remember the night
But
It was all a dream
Just a dream!

Wide awake

Remember a day
Before today
When we used to play
It all seems like a dream

Some lost memories I found
Going round and round
Visuals with no sound
Flowing like a quiet stream

Sleeping with memories beside
Dreaming endlessly through skies
The dawn is about to break
And I'm wide awake

Darkness in light

Little boy
Can you see me
Oh little boy
The world is so dark for you

Little boy
Can you feel me
You don't know
If its day or night
If its darkness or light
If its dull or bright

Oh little boy
Can you hear the colors
Black or blue
Its only you

Little boy
Your eyes are beautiful
You can't see the world
But you can feel the music
And you can sing a song

Oh little boy
Take me to your world
Travel with me
Across your imaginations

Reveal to me your secrets
Oh little boy
Your dreams are real

The Adagio

Sssshhh...
Listen to the music
Its my opera

Follow the movement of his hands
They're playing my symphony

Sitting in the audience
Don't you ever wonder
How easily he masters my fate
And shuffles the cards that I hold
With the sound of his music
A sweet symphony

Suddenly the music goes louder
In the middle of all this fuss
I can't even listen to my thoughts
When they speak out aloud
Louder and louder
And silence

It starts all over again
Seasons in my life
Come and go
To the movement of his hands

He shows me what I am
I listen to my life
Swinging by
Strangled by the hands of lust
The music goes wild
I'm not me anymore

He moves his hand
Another twist, he plays the adagio
It goes slower
Slower and slower
And I'm living life in slow motion

Sssshhh...
listen to the symphony
Its my opera

The music fades
Its funny how I lived the music
And just as the adagio came
The flowers withered away
The nightingale flew away
The music died away

Just the symphony remains

The Masquerade

Stuck in a world of masquerade
Everyone is a hero
And I begin to wonder
Where do I belong

Seeking solitude in promises broken
In these lines that disappear
In these faces they conceal
Never to reveal

Walking past these masked people
Blighted by demons
That dance to the tune of silence
As I crawl through hallucinations

Reality prevails
Or is it just a broken dream

Holding this fantasy
In eyes
Walking through the magic wonderland
Sailing by

Won't you unmask your fears
In this world of masquerade
Where you are someone else

Why don't you hide your face
When your mask begins to fade

Unmask your fears
Unmask your demon
Its not your imagination
What you see is me
Your demon
Is me

Supermassive black hole

Supermassive black hole
Black star
Breathing everything inside
For a ride
Never to let it out again

Supermassive black hole
Incomprehensible, invisible
Holding depths
Keeping secrets of a million years
Never to reveal them

Supermassive black hole
I want to shine forever
But I gave away all my light
I'm just a supermassive black hole

Keep talking but don't talk to me

No, no, no
My life is drifting away from me
Don't talk to me now
Don't you talk

Keep walking, keep singing
I can listen to your mind
I can feel the sky
The sky talks to me

Hold on, dream on
Hold the memories in a paper cup
I'll be leaving tomorrow

My life is drifting away from me
Hold it for me
I can't hold my thoughts
And don't talk to me now
Don't you talk

Don't you cry
Keep smiling
Keep talking
But don't talk to me now
Don't you talk

Dreamer

Thinking about the days gone by
Standing static in moving life
I lost my dreams

Sitting by my life
I saw a flashing light
I followed

I sailed through the clouds
I shouted out aloud
With misty memories all around
I lost my dreams

I followed the light
Ended up in darkness
I heard my voice say
Oh how I wish to dream again!
